Welcome to Employment Law Net. I am David S. Blackmar. I am a lawyer with the international law firm of Greenberg Traurig LLP and the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of GT Law Nets, a publishing and information services subsidary of our firm. Employment Law Net is intended to be the most comprehensive resource available on the 'Net covering employment and labor law on a global scale. This site is a product of Greenberg Traurig's national Employment Law practice group. Click here to read our practice group description and the bios of our employment lawyers. This site's editorial team includes: Department Co-chairs, Lawrence J. Rosenfeld and Frank Scruggs; along with Shareholders: Mary Bruno; Jerry Goldberg; Elizabeth Lewis; Michael Lungaretti; Mary W. Pivec; and Steven Schwarzberg. Daily news, editorial direction, and content development is handled by Michael Lungaretti.. Our goal in creating this site was to harness the Internet to better serve Greenberg Traurig's clients, who include general counsel, in-house attorneys, and human resource managers for companies operating in a broad range of industries. Our clients require high quality, up-to-date, quick, and cost-efficient solutions, and the edge to stay ahead in the constantly changing regulatory arena. The Internet offers reliable primary source legal resources which are indispensable to employment lawyers and human resource managers. This site delivers those resources through a uniquely functional and efficient format which allows us to make informed decisions, while saving time and money. Some of the most useful resources provided on this site are typically not available in law firm libraries or through expensive proprietary networks. This site also delivers valuable original content and special features designed to make the internet more informative, easy, and enjoyable to use. Since the Internet is all about establishing and reinforcing connections between people, we also created this site to marshal the knowledge, insight, and experience of a community of people who share common interests in employment law. No search engine, or set of links or law firm memos can match the collective power and resources of a community of legal and human resource professionals. I hope you will value this power and reward this site with your participation and contributions. The features of this site exist within two primary domains: (1) legal information libraries; and (2) community resources. There are six legal information libraries. They include document libraries and task-specific libraries. The document libraries are:
Including federal, state, international, transnational, and tribal laws and regulations.
Including decisions of U.S. federal and state courts, international courts, courts of countries around the world, and tribal courts.
Including essential guidance documents, policies, and databases from U.S. federal and state agencies, and agencies of governments around the world. The task-specific libraries are:
Including resources organized for performing employment regulatory compliance counseling.
Including resources organized for handling defense against agency enforcement actions and federal and state court litigation. The community domain includes features which allow you to keep abreast of developments in environmental law and interact with employment professionals around the world.
